[KB6503] Error during installation of the eamonm driver

Issue

When upgrading ESET NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Smart Security or ESET Internet Security version 9 or 10 to a later version, the real-time protection driver eamonm.sys will not install if the system temporary folder is located anywhere other than the system disk volume.

If this occurs, the following message will be logged in the ESET Event log: 

  • An error occurred during installation of the eamonm driver.

Solution

Uninstall and reinstall your ESET product. To do so, follow the steps in our Knowledgebase article
