[KB7806] Failed installation of ESET Management Agent (Windows)

Issue

Solution

Failed local installation of the ESET Management Agent

  1. If you are running ESET Live Installer from a shared location, copy the installer file to the local disk and attempt the installation again.

  2. When you run the ESET Management Agent installer, right-click it and select Run as Administrator from the context menu.

Failed push (remote) installation of the ESET Management Agent

  1. Verify that the system drive on the target client workstations has enough free disk space for the installation.
  2. Verify that you have completed each step in the remote installation requirements and checklist for ESET PROTECT and ESET PROTECT On-Prem.

  3. Uninstall all other antivirus applications before installing ESET and remove all files, folders and registry keys left by any previous antivirus applications.

  4. Ensure your operating system is fully updated, and you have manually uninstalled previous versions of ESET security applications.
  5. Disable the Windows Firewall on the server and client workstation. After the installation is complete, re-enable the firewall. See the instructions to disable the Windows Firewall.

  6. Remotely deploy the ESET Management Agent.

  7. If, after following the steps above, you are unable to push install due to the same error code, create a preconfigured Agent Live Installer file and try to install it locally.
