Solution

Issue resolved by upgrading to the latest version

Upgrade ESET endpoint products to the latest version to resolve this issue.

If you are a Home product user, continue to use the solution below.

Affected ESET products and versions:

  • ESET endpoint products versions 7.2 (up to 7.2.2055.0)
  • ESET Windows home products versions 13.1 (up to 13.1.17.0)
Affected Users

Not all users are affected (certain third-party drivers need to be present on the system to be affected). The Windows update is not available to all users because it is released in staggered batches.

  1. Run ESET uninstaller in Safe Mode.

  2. Business users: Install the latest version of ESET Endpoint Antivirus / ESET Endpoint Security.

Home users: Home users should be upgraded to the latest version automatically (unless configured differently in Advanced setup).

Prevention

Before upgrading to Windows 10, version 2004, make sure that you have the latest version of the ESET products you use.
