Upgrade scenarios

We strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of your ESET application before upgrading Windows. Upgrading your ESET endpoint application before upgrading Windows will help to ensure it is compatible with the Windows version you want to install, as well as keep your ESET application settings and subscription information intact.

1. Find your ESET application version.

2. Upgrade your ESET endpoint application to the latest version:

   • Upgrade on individual workstations
   • Upgrade ESET endpoint applications using ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem

Upgrade with ESET Endpoint Security / ESET Endpoint Antivirus 9.x and later

You can upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11 with your ESET application installed. All settings and subscription information will automatically be transferred.

ESET Endpoint applications version 10.0 are no longer supported. Upgrade your ESET application to the latest version before upgrading Windows.

Upgrade with ESET Endpoint Security / ESET Endpoint Antivirus 7.3 - 8.x

You can upgrade to Windows 10 with your ESET application installed. All settings and subscription information will automatically be transferred.

ESET Endpoint applications version 7.3-8.x are no longer supported. Upgrade your ESET application to the latest version before upgrading Windows.

Upgrade with ESET Endpoint Security / ESET Endpoint Antivirus all earlier versions

These ESET endpoint application versions are no longer supported. Upgrade your ESET application to the latest version before upgrading Windows.

You will also be prompted to upgrade to the latest version of your ESET application after you upgrade Windows. Click OK to be redirected to a web page where you can download the latest version of your ESET application. All settings and subscription information will automatically be transferred. If you experience issues during the upgrade process, contact ESET Technical Support.
