- Additional information
I. Network access troubleshooting
In the Network access troubleshooting, window you can find all network communication blocked by ESET. Network access troubleshooting can help you resolve home network connectivity issues caused by the Firewall.
See Add a firewall exception using the Troubleshooting wizard in ESET Windows home or small office products to allow a specific device or application to connect to your home network.
IP addresses that have been detected as sources of attacks are automatically added to a temporary blacklist. See Temporary IP address blacklist for more information.
If the Network access troubleshooting does not resolve your connectivity issue, proceed to Step II – Firewall Interactive mode.
II. Firewall Interactive mode
Interactive mode in the Firewall enables you to create personalized rules to ensure your devices can connect to your home network.
See Create a firewall exclusion using Interactive mode in ESET Windows home or small office products to enable the Interactive mode and create rules based on discovered network communication.
If the Interactive mode does not help you resolve your connectivity issue, proceed to Step III – Firewall rules.
III. Firewall rules
If you still have devices, network traffic, IP addresses or applications that cannot connect to your home network, create firewall rules to allow specific connections.
- Create a firewall rule to allow or block an application
- Create a rule to allow or deny a connection from a remote IP address
- Create a firewall rule to allow or block traffic to specific ports
If the new Firewall rules do not resolve your connectivity issue, proceed to Step IV – Specific firewall issues.
IV. Specific firewall issues

Or, if you are having issues with internal IP traffic, add an IP address to the trusted zone. If this does not resolve your issue, exclude an IP address from IDS.
