Required user permissions

This article assumes that you have the appropriate access rights and permissions to perform the tasks below.

If you are unable to perform the tasks below (the option is unavailable), create a second administrator user in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem with all access rights.

Disabling ESET Firewall may increase security risks

We recommend keeping the Firewall enabled at all times, unless you have been specifically instructed to disable it by ESET Technical Support. Disabling the Firewall may expose your system to potential security threats.

  1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console.

  2. Open policies overview.

    ESET PROTECT

    Click ConfigurationAdvanced setup.

    ESET PROTECT On-Prem

    Click Policies.

  3. Select the policy that is applied to the devices where you want to disable ESET Firewall: below Policies, click the respective policy category, click the policy and click Edit.

  4. Click Settings, expand Protections, click Network access protection, expand Firewall and click the toggle next to Enable Firewall to disable it.

  5. Click Finish.

  6. After you finish troubleshooting, enable ESET Firewall on the client devices again: repeat the steps above to open the firewall settings of the same policy and click the toggle next to Enable Firewall to enable it. Click Finish.
