Any previously installed antivirus software must be uninstalled from your system before installing your ESET product. If you experience issues using any of the tools below, contact the appropriate vendor for assistance.

macOS users: Uninstallers (removal tools) for common Mac antivirus software

Android users: Uninstall or reinstall ESET Mobile Security for Android

ESET AV Remover tool

The ESET AV Remover tool can remove almost any antivirus software previously installed on your system. Download the appropriate ESET AV Remover below and save the file to your desktop. If you do not know which version to use, find your system specifications.

If ESET AV Remover is unsuccessful or unable to identify the program installed, it will direct you back to the list of manual antivirus uninstallers.


List of manual antivirus uninstallers

  1. Click the link associated with the antivirus software currently installed on your machine and follow the prompts or instructions on the corresponding vendor's website.

  2. When the uninstallation process is complete, restart your computer.

  3. Install your ESET product.

Unable to find my antivirus software in the list

If your program is not in the list above, you must use the Control Panel to uninstall your program.

  1. Start your computer in Safe mode.

  2. Press the Windows key + R, type appwiz.cpl, and click OK.

  3. Select the applicable program and click Uninstall.
