[KB8073] Restore forgotten password for Full Disk Encryption in ESET Endpoint Encryption

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

  • Restore your standalone Full Fisk Encryption (FDE) password in ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE)

Solution

  1. On a different computer, open the file that you saved to an external storage device or network drive before you started Full Disk Encryption on your machine. The default name of the file is adminpassword.txt or adminpassword.htm.

  2. Boot the computer you want to unlock. On the FDE login screen, in the User field, type admin. In the Password field, type your admin password and press Enter on your keyboard.

  3. After your operating system starts, log in with your Key-File password. Follow the steps in this guide to recover forgotten Key-File password.

  4. Change your Full Disk Encryption password.
