ESET allows selected users to try a higher-tier product for the last few months (max. 90 days) of their current subscription term at no additional cost. If you are selected for this campaign, you will receive an in-product notification inviting you to:

  • Activate a free upgrade
  • Enjoy better protection for free
  • Renew your subscription with the higher-tier product or return to the original (lower) one*

Solution

Product modules update failure

In case of product modules failure update, wait up to one hour for automatic synchronization to fix the update by itself or go to manual updates to trigger the synchronization by yourself.

Downgrade and revert back to my original protection

You can revert back to the previous protection before the next payment is due using one of the following options:

  • The upgrade confirmation email
  • The Help and support section of the ESET desktop app
Downgrade from ESET Security Ultimate

If you have been using the Password Manager or Secure Data (Encryption) function of your updated product, export passwords and check the Secure Data FAQ.

Downgrade and renew my original protection

If you would like to downgrade and renew your original lower-tier subscription, you can manually downgrade the subscription until the next subscription billing date.

*Auto-renewal subscriptions will automatically renew with the upgraded product unless you manually downgrade the product before the next billing date (which commonly is 10 days before the subscription expiration date). Therefore, it is required for auto-renewal subscription owners who want to cancel this upgrade to do so at least 11 days before the subscription expiration date.
