[KB3218] Add an IP address to the trusted zone in ESET Windows home products

Issue

  • You are unable to connect to or from another computer or device, such as a printer, on your network
  • You need to add an IP address to the trusted zone in your ESET product

This article is part of a series of recommended steps to troubleshoot firewall issues. Start with step 1.

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  2. Press the F5 key to open Advanced setup.

  3. Click ProtectionsNetwork access protection, expand Network access protection and click Edit next to IP sets.

  4. Click Trusted zone and click Edit.

  5. In the Remote computer address (IPv4, IPv6, range, mask) field, type the IP address or subnet of the trusted device and click OK to save your changes.

    Only add safe IP addresses to the trusted zone

    You should only add an IP address to the trusted zone if you know that it is safe.

  6. Verify that the added IP addresses are visible in the Trusted zone row. Click OK, then another OK to save the changes.
