Add Performance exclusions via policy in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem

  1. Create a policy in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem.

  2. In the Settings section, select your ESET application from the drop-down menu, click Scans, and click Edit next to Performance exclusions.

  3. Click Add.

  4. Type the path of a directory or file you want to exclude from scanning into the Path field and click SaveSave. Verify the path is in the correct format (for example, C:\Users\User\Desktop\file.exe).

    Using wildcards

You can use wildcards to exclude a group of files. A question mark (?) represents a single character, whereas an asterisk (*) represents a string of zero or more characters. For more information, see the performance exclusions Online Help topic.

Add Detection exclusions from Detections in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem

Detection exclusions

Use exclusions with caution—they may result in an infected computer.

  1. Click Detections, click the menu icon (three dots) next to the detection you want to exclude, and click Create Exclusion.

  2. Configure the exclusion based on your preferences and click Finish. For more information, see the detection exclusions Online Help topic.
