Restore default firewall settings in ESET Windows home and small office products

Back up your settings

If you have created custom rules or exceptions that allow applications or external devices to run without being blocked by the firewall, we recommend that you export them before restoring default settings.

Export ESET configuration settings to an .xml file.

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  2. Press the F5 key to open Advanced setup.

  3. Click Network access protection, expand Firewall, and click the Revert icon.

  4. Enable the toggle next to Revert contents of tables and click Revert to default.

View built-in (pre-defined) firewall rules

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  2. Press the F5 key to open Advanced setup.

  3. Click Network access protection, expand Firewall, and click Edit next to Rules.

  4. Click More filters.

  5. Disable the toggle next to Hide built-in (pre-defined) rules and click Apply.
