[KB8204] Change your Master Password using ESET Password Manager (3.x)

  • When you change your Master Password, ESET Password Manager will generate and securely store a new Recovery Key. If you forget or lose your Recovery Key or Master Password, ESET cannot resend them to you.
  • If you do not remember your Master Password and you do not have your Recovery Key, you can remove the existing Password Store and create a new one.
  • We recommend that you periodically export and save a backup of your password store.  


Change your Master Password

  1. Open Password Manager in a browser extension.

  2. Click Menu Settings.

  3. Click My Account.

  4. Click Change Master Password.

  5. Type your Current Master Password, type and confirm your New Master Password and click Change.

  6. Click Download Recovery Key PDF or click Copy to clipboard. When your Recovery Key is stored in a secure location, select the check box next to I have securely stored my Recovery Key. Click Finish.
