Create a firewall exception

Firewall rules managed by policy

If the firewall rules are configured through an ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem policy, this procedure will not resolve the issue. Modify the firewall rules through the policies applied to the affected device.

Creating a firewall exception that allows your application or device to connect to your network automatically.

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET endpoint application.

  2. Click Setup Network.

  3. Click Resolve blocked communication.

  4. Locate the application or device you want to create a firewall exception for and click Unblock. If your application or device is not on the list, check the temporary IP address blacklist.

  5. Click Done.


Add a firewall exception for a temporarily blocked IP address

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET endpoint application.

  2. Click Setup Network.

  3. Click Resolve temporarily blocked IP addresses.

  4. Select the applicable blocked IP address and click Add exception.

  5. The IP address can now connect to your network.
