[KB6120] ESET blocking CTRL+Alt+Del command in LogMeIn (Home Users)

Issue

  • You are unable to use the Ctrl+Alt+Delete command while using LogMeIn to access computers remotely
  • HIPS prevents the Ctrl+Alt+Delete command from working

Solution

Are you a business user?

  1. Open your Windows ESET product. How do I open my ESET product?

  2. Press the F5 key to open Advanced setup.

  3. Expand Detection engine, click HIPS and click Edit next to Rules.

  1. Click Add.

  1. Type the application name in the Rule name field and click the toggle next to Applications. Click Next.

  2. Select Specific applications from the drop-down menu and click Add.

  3. Click the browse icon and navigate to the application you want to create the rule for. Select the application and click Open.

    For newer versions of LogMeIn, the location may be found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\LogMeIn\x64\LogMeInRC.exe.

  4. Click OK and click Next.

  1. Click the toggle next to All application operations and click Next.
