[KB3250] Temporarily disable protection in ESET Cyber Security or ESET Cyber Security Pro

Occasionally, during the troubleshooting or installation of third-party software, you may need to disable your antivirus software temporarily. If this is necessary, remember to immediately re-enable Real-time file system protection after the third-party software installation is complete.


Solution

You have version 7 of ESET Cyber Security

  1. Open the main program window of ESET Cyber Security 7.

  2. Click ProtectionsComputer.

  1. Click the toggle next to Real-time file system protection to disable it.

Re-enable protection when you are finished

When you are finished working with protection disabled, immediately re-enable Real-time file system protection: Click Overview and click enable Real-time file system protection.

You have version 6 of ESET Cyber Security Pro

  1. Open the main program window of ESET Cyber Security or ESET Cyber Security Pro.

  2. Click the Protection status icon → Disable Real-time File System Protection.

  3. When prompted, click Disable to confirm.

Re-enable protection when you are finished

When you are finished working with protection disabled, immediately re-enable Real-time file system protection: Click the Protection status icon → Enable Real-time file system protection.
