Webcam Protection in your ESET Windows home or small office product informs you about processes and apps attempting to access your computer's webcam.
When an app requests access to your webcam, you will receive an alert where you select to allow or block the access. The color of the alert window depends on the app's reputation. The option you select will be turned into a rule you can edit later. You will receive a notification when the rule is used, whether you block or allow the webcam access for the app.
Solution
Add a webcam protection rule
In the Webcam access attempt alert, select the Remember for this application option and click either Block access or Allow access. If the Remember for this application option is not selected, no rule will be created.
The rule will be added to your webcam protection rules. You will receive a notification when the rule is used, whether you block or allow the webcam access for the app.
Edit an existing webcam protection rule
In the webcam protection rules editor, you can edit the settings of existing rules or delete an existing rule.

Open the main program window of your ESET Windows home or small office product.

Press the F5 key to access Advanced setup.

Click Device control, expand Webcam protection and click Edit next to Rules.

In the Rules window, you can change existing rules to either block or allow webcam access for an app, or to display an alert each time an app requests webcam access. The alert asks whether you want to allow or block the access. In the drop-down menu in the Action column for the rule you want to change, select Allow access, Block access, or Ask to update the rule and click OK.

In Advanced setup, click OK to save your changes.

The webcam rule is now updated. You will receive a notification each time the rule is used.
Enable or disable webcam access alerts for modified apps

Open the main program window of your ESET Windows home or small office product.

Press the F5 key to access Advanced setup.

Click Device control and expand Webcam protection. Click the toggle next to Disable webcam access alerts for modified applications to enable or disable webcam access alerts for modified applications.
