[KB7189] Reset the activation process of a managed client in ESET Endpoint Encryption Client

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

The article below applies only to the EEE Client or EEE Server and not EFDE.

Visit What's new in ESET Full Disk Encryption to view EFDE content.

  • After re-installing ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) on a managed client, and generating and sending an activation code to the client, the activation box does not appear

Solution

To reset the activation process of a workstation, follow the steps below to modify the registry so that the workstation will prompt for activation again.

  1. Press the Windows key  + R, type regedit and click OK.

  2. Click regedit.exe and when the Registry Editor window opens, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DESlock\Client\CentralCtrl.
