[KB548] Disable protection in ESET Windows home products (15.x–16.x)

Issue

  • Disable ESET real-time protection for a short time
  • You need to troubleshoot or install third-party software that requires you to temporarily disable your ESET antivirus software
Always re-enable protection

Remember to re-enable Antivirus and antispyware protection after you are finished troubleshooting or installing other software applications by opening the main program window and clicking Enable Antivirus and antispyware protection (Antivirus and antispyware protection will be turned on automatically if your computer is restarted).

  1. Open your Windows ESET product.

  2. Click Setup Computer protection.

  3. Click Pause Antivirus and antispyware protection.

  4. Select the length of time you would like to disable protection from the drop-down menu and click Apply.
