[KB3351] Roll back module updates in ESET home or small office applications for Windows

Issue

Details

If you suspect that a new update of the detection engine or program modules may be unstable or corrupt, you can roll back to the previous version and disable updates for a set timeframe. Alternatively, you can enable previously disabled updates if you have postponed them indefinitely.

Solution

Roll back to the previous module update and suspend updates for a set timeframe

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows application.

  2. Press the F5 key to open Advanced setup.

  3. Click UpdatesRollback.

  4. Select the appropriate amount of time from the Duration drop-down menu and click OKOK.

    'Until revoked' option

If you select Until revoked, detection engine updates will not resume until you manually enable them. We do not recommend selecting Until revoked unless you are advised to do so by ESET Technical Support. Disabling updates can expose your system to threats. Selecting this option will change your protection status to yellow.

Enable previously disabled updates

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows application.

  2. Press the F5 key to open Advanced setup.

  3. Click UpdatesAllow updatesOK.
