[KB2781] Change the frequency of regular product updates in ESET Windows home products (14.x — 15.x)

Issue

  • Limited network resources or bandwidth necessitate less frequent updates (default is every hour)
  • This article applies to the following products:
    • ESET NOD32 Antivirus
    • ESET Internet Security
    • ESET Smart Security Premium

Solution

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  3. In the Interval between task execution (min.) field, type in or copy/paste the number of minutes to wait between updates (the default setting is 60) and click Next.

Avoid changes in the timing

ESET does not recommend changing the timing of the regular automatic update as a longer amount of time between updates exposes your system to a greater risk of infection.
