[KB2781] Change the frequency of regular product updates in ESET Windows home products

Issue

• Limited network resources or bandwidth require less frequent updates (default is every hour)

Solution

1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

2. Click Tools → Scheduler.

   

3. Select Regular automatic update and click Edit.

   

4. Verify the toggle next to Enabled is enabled and click Next.

   

5. Select how often the task should run (we recommend selecting Repeatedly for the update task) and click Next.

   

6. In the Interval between task execution (min.) field, type in the number of minutes to wait between updates (the default setting is 60) and click Next.

   Avoid changes in the timing

   ESET does not recommend changing the timing of the regular automatic update, as a longer interval between updates exposes your system to a greater risk of infection.

   

7. Select At the next scheduled time and click Next.

   

8. In the summary of your updated settings, click Finish. Your regular product updates interval has been changed.

   You can select which primary and secondary update profiles the changes should apply to.
