[KB8309] Getting started with ESET Inspect

System requirements and installation prerequisites

Users without an ESET PROTECT Hub (EPH), ESET Business Account (EBA) or ESET PROTECT account New ESET Inspect users that do not have an EPH or EBA, click here for full instructions to set up and deploy EPH or EBA and ESET PROTECT.  Verify that your operating systems and browsers are compatible with ESET PROTECT. Verify that all required ports are open and available in ESET Inspect and ESET PROTECT.

Import an eligible ESET Inspect license into EPH or EBA 

Eligible licenses Users will need an eligible bundle license that includes ESET Inspect. Business users – We recommend using ESET PROTECT Hub (EPH) or ESET Business Account (EBA). Managed Service Providers (MSP) – We recommend using ESET PROTECT Hub (EPH) or ESET MSP Administrator 2 (EMA 2).  ESET PROTECT Hub Account (EPH) Import your ESET Inspect license into EPH (same as EBA). ESET Business Account (EBA) Import your ESET Inspect license into EBA. ESET MSP Administrator 2 (EMA 2) Create or request an ESET Inspect license for EMA 2.

Activate ESET Inspect using EPH, EBA or EMA 2

Business (EPH) users – Activate ESET Inspect (same as EBA). Business (EBA) users – Activate ESET Inspect. MSP (EMA 2) – Activate ESET Inspect

Deploy the ESET Inspect Connector to client computers

Deploy the ESET Inspect Connector using the All-in-one installer. Deploy ESET Inspect Connector using a software install task in ESET PROTECT

Add exclusions to ESET Inspect on client computers

Adding Exclusions The exclusions below are recommended. You may also add other exclusions.  Migrate exclusions from ESET Inspect On-Prem to ESET Inspect Create exclusions in ESET Inspect On-Prem and ESET Inspect

Support for ESET Inspect On-Prem and ESET Inspect is limited and managing rules or exclusions are not included without an ESET Security Service package.
