[KB8028] Encrypt optical media in ESET Endpoint Encryption

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

The article below applies only to the EEE Client or EEE Server and not EFDE.

  • Create optical media that is encrypted by ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE)

Solution

EEE supports file-level encryption only on optical media

You can encrypt optical media only with file-level encryption and not full-disk encryption (FDE). Other removable media can be encrypted with FDE

  1. Insert a blank disc such as CD, DVD or Blu-Ray into your optical media drive.

  2. Move the files that you want to encrypt on an optical drive with EEE into a separate folder.

  3. In your Windows notification area, right-click the EEE icon and click Removable mediaOptical Media Encryption.
