Two-Factor Authentication increases the security of your ESET HOME account and data.


Solution

Required authentication app

Before setting up Two-Factor Authentication in the ESET HOME mobile app, ensure you have a Two-Factor Authentication app, such as ESET Secure Authentication or Google Authenticator, installed on your mobile device.

  1. Log in to your ESET HOME mobile app.

  2. Tap the hamburger icon in the top-left corner to open the main menu.

  3. Tap My account.

  4. Scroll down to Security settings and tap Set up next to Two-Factor Authentication.

  5. Type your ESET HOME password and tap Continue.

  6. Tap Set up on this device.

  7. Your authentication app will open. If you have more than one authentication app installed, select the app you want to use.

  8. Follow the instructions in your authentication app to add your ESET HOME account. After you add the account, make note of the 6-digit code displayed in the authentication app.

  9. Return to the ESET HOME mobile app. Type the 6-digit code from your authentication app and click Continue.

  10. Back up recovery codes for your account: click Download codes & continue to save the recovery codes as a .txt file on your device, or click Copy codes & continue to copy the codes.

    Safely store the recovery codes

    Recovery codes are one-time codes you can use to log in to your account when you do not have access to your authentication app. 

    We recommend that you save the recovery codes in a safe location, preferably on a different device than the one you use for Two-Factor Authentication.
