Issue

  • Create, edit, or delete a firewall rule in ESET Endpoint Security from a client workstation

Solution

 ESET PROTECT On-Prem users: Create or edit firewall rules for client workstations in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem

Firewall rules configuration for ESET Server products

Firewall rules can now be configured in the Common Features policy, or the ESET Endpoint for Windows policy or the ESET Server Security for Windows Server policy.

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows endpoint products.

  2. Press the F5 key to access Advanced setup.

  3. Click Protections → Network access protection, expand Firewall and click Edit next to Rules.

  1. Click Add and set the parameters for your rule. Alternatively, select an existing rule and click Edit or Delete to configure or remove the rule.

  1. Type a name for a rule and ensure that the Enabled toggle is enabled. Set the parameters in the Action section and expand the rest of the sections to set parameters to define your new rule. When you are finished setting the parameters for a rule, click OK.

  1. Your new rule will appear in the Rules window. Select the rule and review the parameters on the right side of the window. Click OK → OK to save your changes and exit Advanced setup.
