Issue

Solution

Check which security tools are available for your ESET product

ESET Windows home and small office products offer different security tools. See which features are available for your ESET product.

Secure Data

Concurrency issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption will not be able to run concurrently with Secure Data. If you already have ESET Endpoint Encryption installed on your computer, you cannot enable Secure Data.

You must uninstall ESET Endpoint Encryption from your computer to use Secure Data.

You can store your data on an encrypted virtual drive or removable devices (for example, USB drives).

Create an encrypted virtual drive
  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  2. Click SetupSecurity Tools.

  3. Verify that the toggle next to Secure Data is enabled. If not, click the toggle to enable it. When the setup is complete, click the arrow icon next to Secure Data.

  4. Click Create a virtual drive.

  5. Click Browse.

  6. Select the location for your encrypted virtual drive and click Save.

  7. Click Continue.

  8. Type a password into the Set password and Confirm password fields and click Continue.

    Save this password carefully

Ensure you do not lose this password. You will need it to access your encrypted drive.

You cannot recover your data if you lose this password.

  9. Click Done to exit the Setup Wizard. Your encrypted virtual drive is ready to use.

Create an encrypted folder on a removable device
  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  2. Click SetupSecurity Tools.

  3. Verify that the toggle next to Secure Data is enabled. If not, click the toggle to enable it. When the setup is complete, click the arrow icon next to Secure data.

  4. Click Encrypt a removable drive.

  5. Connect a removable device to your computer, select the removable device from the drop-down menu and click Continue. If you do not see your removable device in the drop-down menu, click Refresh.

  6. Type a password into the Set password and Confirm password fields and click Continue.

    Save this password carefully

Ensure you do not lose this password. You will need it to access your encrypted drive.

You cannot recover your data if you lose this password.

  7. Click Done to exit the Setup Wizard. Your encrypted folder on your removable drive is ready to use.

Parental Control

Parental Control allows users to enable or restrict access to specific web content based on the age and profile of the user account. You will also create a security password to protect all settings within your ESET product.

The password will be required to modify your ESET product. See the following articles for more information about setting up and using Parental Control:

Anti-Theft

ESET Anti-Theft utilizes geographical IP address lookup, web camera image capture, user account protection, and device monitoring to assist you and a law enforcement organization in locating your computer or device if it is lost or stolen.

Anti-Theft is recommended for laptop users. You do not need to set up Anti-Theft on a stationary PC.

Activate ESET Anti-Theft.

Identity Protection

ESET Identity Protection continuously monitors your personal data on the Dark Web, detects illegal misuse or sale, and alerts you by email whenever your identity is at risk.

Enable and activate Identity Protection using ESET Security Ultimate.

ESET VPN

ESET VPN allows users to establish a private network connection with real-time encryption when connection when using public and private networks which makes it more difficult for third parties to track your activities online and steal data.

ESET VPN installation for Windows, Android, macOS, and iOS.

ESET Folder Guard

ESET Folder Guard improves file and data security by preventing malware and untrusted applications from accessing protected folders.
