[KB8697] Cannot restart or reinstall the ESET Secure Authentication service (Active Directory integrated mode)

Issue

• Unable to restart or reinstall ESET Secure Authentication (ESA) service (AD integrated mode)
• ESET Secure Authentication core installation error 1920/1923
• Cleanup utility command
• Reinstall ESET Secure Authentication

Solution

Cleanup utility command

1. Download the EIP.CleanupUtility.

2. Open the Windows command line and run EIP.CleanupUtility.exe license. A member of the EsaCoreAuthServices group must run the command.

3. Reactivate ESET Secure Authentication.

4. If the CleanupUtility does not resolve the issue, reinstall ESET Secure Authentication.

Reinstall ESET Secure Authentication

1. Completely uninstall ESET Secure Authentication, including all AD data, which users can select in the uninstaller wizard.

2. Reinstall ESET Secure Authentication.

3. If users receive a file not found error during the reinstall, users can manually resolve this error.
