[KB8129] ESET business applications that support auto-updates

Issue

Details

ESET PROTECT On-Prem and ESET PROTECT feature automatic updates for supported ESET security applications. Auto-updates are used to deliver both feature and servicing updates. The auto-updates feature downloads .dup files during the first module update check. The latest version is activated after a restart.

ESET PROTECT and ESET PROTECT On-Prem installations have auto-updates enabled by default.

Auto-updates differ from Micro Program Component Updates updates in that Auto-updates will only update supported ESET applications managed by ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem. uPCU updates include an automatic feature that updates managed or unmanaged ESET applications.

You can also opt-out from auto-updates.

For ESET applications that do not support automatic updates, you can upgrade the ESET business application manually or download the latest version from the ESET downloads page

Read more about how auto-updates work in the Online Help documentation for ESET PROTECT On-Prem, ESET PROTECT or ESET Endpoint Security Auto-update FAQ.
