Issue
- You lost or forgot the key-file password to log in to a managed ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) instance (i.e. your EEE software was installed by a member of your IT department)
Solution
ESET Endpoint Encryption Server administrators:
- Log in to the EEE Server console, select the affected user and click Details.

- Click the Workstations tab, select the appropriate workstation and click Deactivate.

- In the Deactivate User notification, select the check box next to Are you sure you want to Deactivate this user? and click Deactivate.

- With the user selected, click Generate activation code, and click Okay to send the new code to the user.
- The endpoint user will need to right-click the EEE icon in the system tray, and when the menu appears, click Proxy Sync.
- In the activation window that appears, the user will type in their activation code and click Okay.
- The user will need to type a password in the password fields. This will be their new EEE login password.
