Issue
- Your Mac is locked by Mac OS X Lockscreen ransomware
Solution
I. Start your Mac in Safe Boot mode:
- Turn off your Mac by clicking the Apple icon → Shut Down. When prompted, click Shut Down. Alternatively, you can press and hold the power button until the computer shuts off.

Click the image to view larger in new window - Turn on your Mac and hold the Shift key. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and wait for the Mac Desktop to appear. Your Mac should be in Safe Boot mode, which disables startup items. Proceed to part II below.
II. Clear the Safari cache:
- Open Safari and click Safari → Preferences.

Click the image to view larger in new window - Click Advanced and select the check box next to Show Develop menu in menu bar.

Click the image to view larger in new window - The Develop menu will now be available. Click Develop → Empty Caches.

Click the image to view larger in new window - Restart your computer normally (without holding down the Shift key) by clicking the Apple icon → Restart. When prompted, click Restart.
