Lösung

 

Using the removable media control feature in ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus 5, you can configure removable media blocking rules specific to certain USB, CD/DVD or FireWire devices. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the main program window by double-clicking the ESET icon  in your Windows notification area or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
     
  2. Press the F5 key on your keyboard to access the Advanced setup window.
     
  3. In the Advanced setup tree to the left, expand ComputerAntivirus and antispyware and click Removable media.
     
  4. If it is not already selected, select the check box next to Removable media blocking rules and click Rules.

  5. Click New.

  6. If you would like to configure a rule for a device that is already connected, select the device type from the Device type drop-down menu and click Populate with connected device parameters.

    NOTE:

    Alternatively, you can enter device information, such as device type, serial number and vendor, manually in the Device section.

  7. In the Choose from connected devices window, select your device and click OK

  8. In the Rights section, select the access level you would like to grant this device (or group of devices).

    NOTE:

    Deny access: Blocks access to selected removable media


    Read: Limits access to selected removable media to read-only access


    Read and write: Allows full read and write access to selected removable media

  9. Click OK, then OK again to return to the Advanced setup window. 
     
  10. Click OK to save your changes.
