[KB7953] Delay detection engine updates to minimize the impact of update issues in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem

Issue

  • Configure your ESET products to receive delayed detection engine updates

Details

You can configure your ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Oprem settings so that your client workstation(s) will be scheduled to receive delayed module updates. This procedure gives your critical systems more time to avoid potential server incidents.

Solution

Endpoint users: Perform these steps on individual client workstations

Increased network vulnerability

Delaying updates can potentially increase your network vulnerability. We recommend that you make a thorough assessment of your network's current security status before deciding to delay updates.
