ESET Endpoint Antivirus for macOS 7.0.7300.0 has been released.
Before upgrading to ESET Endpoint Antivirus for macOS version 7, we recommend reviewing the following information:
Information to know before upgrading to version 7
- Only ESET Endpoint Antivirus for macOS version 7 is being released at this time. ESET Endpoint Security for macOS will remain version 6.
- There will be fewer features in version 7 than in version 6. See our product comparison topic for more information.
- Version 7 cannot be downloaded as a standalone product. Version 7 can be upgraded and managed from version 6 using ESET PROTECT, ESET PROTECT Cloud, or ESET Security Management Center (ESMC) 7.2 and later.
- Upgrading from version 6 to version 7 is supported. Version 7 does not transfer the existing configuration settings and the configuration is automatically reset to default. Version 7 will need to be reconfigured by creating a new policy in ESET PROTECT or ESMC 7.2 and later, and choosing "EEA for macOS (V7+)."
- For remote deployment, we recommend creating a new configuration profile for version 7, deploying the configuration profile to the target computers, upgrading your ESET Endpoint Antivirus for macOS and removing the configuration profiles for version 6. You can find the new version 7 configuration profiles to download in the Pre-installation settings topic.
- Version 7 is only supported on macOS 10.15 and later.
- After upgrading to version 7, it is required to reboot the system to enable Full Disk Access to the main application.
- ESET Inspect (formerly ESET Enterprise Inspector) 1.6 and earlier users, we recommend that you wait to upgrade to ESET Endpoint Antivirus 7 until after you have upgraded to ESET Inspect version 1.7.
