Issue
- Set up and configure your ESET business solution
- Deploy ESET business solutions after purchasing your subscription
Solution
Following the instructions in this article will help you set up and configure the ESET business solution you purchased.
I. Subscription management
Your subscription can be managed in ESET PROTECT Hub. ESET PROTECT Hub brings together functionality from multiple services and tools in one place, making it easier to manage security across the system.
-
Add your ESET subscription to your ESET PROTECT Hub account. Now you can manage your ESET subscription in ESET PROTECT Hub.
-
Based on your environment, you can add users and sites to ESET PROTECT Hub for better organization and subscription management. You can assign users and subscriptions to specific sites.
- Ensure every ESET PROTECT Hub user has the correct user permissions.
II. ESET PROTECT platform
When you set up ESET PROTECT Hub, you can activate ESET solutions based on your purchased ESET protection tier. You can find all available ESET solutions and their description in the ESET PROTECT Hub Dashboard.
-
To protect and manage your devices, activate ESET PROTECT (Cloud) or deploy ESET PROTECT On-Prem. Activating ESET PROTECT will automatically use your sites and users created in ESET PROTECT Hub.
-
Add client computers in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem
-
Deploy ESET Management Agents to all computers to install and configure ESET security products from your ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem.
For additional security, you can password-protect access to the ESET Management Agent (available for Windows only). To set an ESET Management Agent password, you need to create an appropriate policy for ESET Management Agent.
To manage and protect supported mobile devices, activate Cloud Mobile Device Management (available only in ESET PROTECT).
To help ensure the highest level of enterprise security, we recommend using:
- ESET Inspect (Cloud) or ESET Inspect On-Prem
- ESET Full Disk Encryption
- ESET Secure Authentication (if you use Microsoft Active Directory)
III. Device protection
When you have your devices connected to ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem, you can manage them and install ESET security products.
-
Organize your devices by creating static or dynamic groups.
- Create static groups and use them to manually organize your company by adding devices to the static groups
- Create dynamic groups with a template to automatically organize devices based on the template (for example, devices without an ESET Security product installed or devices where a threat was found)
After the successful deployment of ESET security products, you have successfully deployed your ESET Business solution. For better device management, you can:
- Set up notifications to keep track of the overall state of your network
- Schedule a report of specific data from ESET PROTECT
- Use all available server and client tasks to manage/configure ESET PROTECT Server or client devices
- See an overview of detected vulnerabilities on computers and apply fixes
- Delete non-connected computers from ESET PROTECT
- Configure ESET Security products by applying policies to client devices, see the ESET products configuration section
IV. ESET products configuration
Configuration of ESET products is done via polices in ESET PROTECT. You can use pre-defined policies from ESET PROTECT or create your own.
For more information on how to use policies, see:
- Basic setup: Allows you to configure basic settings on your devices quickly
- Advanced setup: Contains all your existing policies, with options to edit or create new ones
