[KB7825] Export ESET System Vulnerability Checker logs using ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem

The ESET Technical Support asks you to collect ESET Log Collector logs from Microsoft Windows computers on your network to analyze security incidents and malware-related issues.


Solution

Minimum requirements

Before performing the steps described in this article, make sure your target computer have internet access to enable the executable to be downloaded.

Generate and submit ESET Log Collector to ESET Technical Support

  1. Click Tasks and click New → Customer Task.

  2. Create a name for the task (in this example, ESVC and ELC registration is used). Select Diagnostics from the Task drop-down menu and click Continue.

  3. In the Diagnostic Action section, verify that the Run Log Collector radio button is selected. Click Continue.

  4. Click Finish to complete the process.

  5. Click Create Trigger to create the Task Trigger. Wait for the task to run.

  6. After the task runs successfully, click Computers, click the menu icon (three dots) next to the computer from which the logs will be exported and click Details.

  7. Click Logs and click the Log Collector tab. Click the last log generated and select Download Log Collector Log.

  8. Select a download location and click OK.

  9. Sent the log file to ESET Technical Support. Need further assistance? Contact ESET Technical Support.

    If the log is very large or if you use ESET PROTECT Virtual Appliance

    If the size of the generated log is very large, it cannot be stored in the database and cannot be downloaded from the ESET PROTECT Web Console.

    • If you receive a notification when trying to download the log, go to C:\ProgramData\ESET\RemoteAdministrator\Server\EraServerApplicationData\Data\
      RemoteDiagnostics
      and locate the .zip file with format name era-diagnostic-logs_AAAA-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS.

    • If you are using ESET PROTECT Virtual Appliance, access the path /var/opt/eset/RemoteAdministrator/Server/RemoteDiagnostics/ and locate the .zip file in the format named era-diagnostic-logs_AAAA-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS.
