Pre-release updates are updates that have been thoroughly tested and will be released soon. Enabling pre-release updates gives access to the most recent detection methods and fixes; however, pre-release updates might not be stable enough at all times, so you should always revert to using normal updates after an issue is resolved.

Solution

Enable Pre-release Updates in ESET PROTECT

1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console in your web browser and log in.

2. Click Policies, select the desired Built-in policy and then select the policy that you want to modify.

3. Click Actions → Edit.

   

    

4. Click Settings → Update, and expand Profiles.

5. Expand Updates. From the Update type drop-down menu, select Pre-release update.

6. Click Finish. Policy changes will be applied to clients the next time that they check in to ESET PROTECT Server.

Enable Pre-release Updates on an Individual Client Workstation

1. Open the main program window of your Windows ESET product.

2. Press F5 to open the Advanced setup.
   
   
3. Click Update, expand Profiles → Updates.  From the Update type drop-down menu, select Pre-release update.
   
   
4. Click OK to save your changes.
