Does ESET protect me from the Avalanche network?
Yes. While the Avalanche network itself is not capable of carrying out attacks on your computer, your ESET product can detect and remove threats distributed using Avalanche servers. We strongly recommend that you enable ESET Live Grid to ensure the highest level of protection against emerging threats.
If you do not have an ESET solution installed, use the ESET Online Scanner tool to scan and remove malicious software including threats distributed over the Avalanche network.
What is the Avalanche network?
The Avalanche network was an obfuscation scheme that allowed malicious botnets such as TeslaCrypt and Rovnix to go undetected in their communications. The term "Fast-flux" has been used to describe the way Avalanche took advantage of large numbers of compromised servers to create a constantly changing network of proxies that allowed attacks to be carried out untraced.
