[KB353] How do I set up a proxy server in ESET NOD32 for Linux Server?

Solution

If your server uses a proxy server to mediate the connection to the Internet, the proxy server settings must be configured in order to provide regular updates of NOD32. This is also necessary in order to submit statistical info and suspicious files using the ThreatSense.Net technology.

To edit the proxy server settings, open the configuration file nod32.cfg and search for the section:

proxy_addr =
proxy_port = 3128
proxy_username =
proxy_password =

Enter the proxy server, username, password and IP address.

NOTE:

If there is a proxy server specified in the environment variables, the program will use those settings.
To check the current status, use the command 'env' and find HTTP_PROXY=

# env | grep HTTP_PROXY
