[KB8041] Release a client license in ESET Endpoint Encryption Server

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

The article below applies only to the EEE Client or EEE Server and not EFDE.

Visit What's new in ESET Full Disk Encryption to view EFDE content.

  • Free up a license in your ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Server to add another user when all your licenses are currently being used
  • Suspend a license to stop using EEE features
  • Delete a user

Delete a user

Deleting a user does not decrypt files

Deleting a user does not deactivate the user on a workstation and does not delete Key-Files. The data encrypted by EEE will remain encrypted and the workstation will not receive any updates.

Perform this action only if you lost access to the workstation or if the workstation no longer requires any updates or decryption.

  1. Click Users, select the user that you want to delete, and click Delete.

  2. A dialog window is open if the user is activated on a workstation. Click Yes.

  3. Type in your administrator password and click Delete. This will free the license to be used with another user.
