[KB2354] Why is Windows Action Center prompting me to update my antivirus?

Solution

If your ESET product is unable to update, you may receive a warning from the Windows 7 Action Center. However, you can only resolve the issue from the main program window in your ESET product. To troubleshoot an update issue, see the list of troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Make sure your ESET-issued Username and Password are entered correctly.

    Activation Key

    Remember to type your activation key exactly as it is written:

    • The hyphens in the activation key are necessary
    • The activation key is twenty characters long
    • All letters in the activation key are uppercase
    • If you are copying and pasting, ensure you do not select an extra blank space

    I forgot my License Key.

  2. Confirm you are using the correct ESET product and license. Which ESET product do I have and is it the latest version?

  3. Open a browser window and go to http://www.eset.com to verify that you have an active Internet connection.
