Issue
- Some customers with ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus installed may see a recurrent pop-up notification in their system tray that reads "ESET requires your attention" even if no action is needed. This is an unresolved issue affecting a small number of customers that our team is currently working to resolve. In some cases, following the steps below may resolve this issue.

II. Prevent Gamer mode from initiating automatically
If you are intermittently receiving an "ESET requires your attention" notification followed by a return to full protection status, your ESET product may have automatically enabled Gamer mode. Under normal circumstances ESET automatically enables Gamer mode whenever you initiate full-screen mode in an application, such as a movie or game. In some cases detection of full-screen mode applications does not function as intended and triggers a notification. In these scenarios we recommend disabling the detection of full-screen mode:
-
Open ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus. How do I open my ESET product?
-
Press the F5 key on your keyboard to access the Advanced setup tree.
-
Click the + sign next to User Interface to expand it.
-
Click Gamer Mode.
-
Deselect the check box next to Enable Gamer mode when running applications in full-screen mode automatically.
- Click OK to confirm the changes and return to the main program window.
