[KB2796] Block or allow websites or website categories using Parental Control in ESET home applications for Windows

Issue

Solution

Set up Windows user accounts for each person accessing the device

Before you configure ESET Parental Control, set up Windows user accounts for each person accessing the device. Otherwise, Parental Control is ineffective in shielding children from inappropriate web content.

Block or allow specific websites for a specific user account

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows home application.

  2. Click SetupInternet protection.

  3. Click the arrow icon next to Parental control.

  4. Click Blocked content and settings below the user account you want to protect. Type your Advanced setup password and click OK.

  5. Click Edit next to Exceptions.

  6. Click Add. From the Action drop-down menu, select the action type. In the Website URL field, type or copy/paste the link of the website you want to block or allow. Click OKOK.

  7. Click OK.
