ESET PROTECT enables you to create a Live Installer package to install the ESET Management Agent, ESET Server Security for Linux, and ESET Inspect Connector together.

Prerequisites
If you do not already have your Live Installer for ESET Server Security for Linux created and distributed on endpoint computers, follow this section.

Create Live Installer for ESET Server Security for Linux in ESET PROTECT.

Expand the ESET PROTECT part of the article.

Follow steps 1-4 to create the .bin installer file and distribute it to endpoint computers using the preferred method.

- Follow the next section to install ESET Server Security for Linux, ESET Management Agent together, and ESET Inspect Connector using Live Installer.
Install ESET Server Security for Linux using Live Installer

Open the Terminal window by pressing CTRL + ALT + T keys.

Log in as a user with root privileges.

Get execution permission for the Live Installer file:
chmod +x epi_lin_live_installer.bin

Execute the Live Installer.
./epi_lin_live_installer.bin

Follow the on-screen instructions and accept the product License Agreement to complete the installation.
- When the installation completes, the message "Successfully installed ESET Server Security" will be displayed. ESET Server Security for Linux, ESET Management Agent, and ESET Inspect Connector have been installed, and the server can now be managed from ESET PROTECT.
Logs
During the execution of the Live Installer .bin file, logs are created in /var/log/eset. Logs are also logged to syslog.
To access the logs file, run the following command:
xdg-open /var/log/eset
Error messages
During the binary execution, the following error messages might appear in the Terminal:
Multiple executions
Parallel execution of Live Installer is not allowed and will result in an error message:
- "Failed to acquire an exclusive lock on /var/run/epi_linux_live_installer.pid: Another instance of ESET Live Installer is already running."
Unsupported distribution
Executing the binary on an unsupported Linux distribution will result in an error message:
- "Failed to find com.eset.apps.business.efs.linux installer compatible with this OS version."
Expired token
If the Live Installer contains an expired token, the following error message is displayed:
- "This copy of ESET Live Installer is invalid or has expired. Failed to download manifest."
