[KB8053] Active Directory user states in ESET Endpoint Encryption

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

The article below applies only to the EEE Client or EEE Server and not EFDE.

Visit What's new in ESET Full Disk Encryption to view EFDE content.

Solution

Explanation of Active Directory user states

User is unlinked

This is the default state for an Active Directory user after synchronization. The user was found during synchronization with Active Directory and the user is not added to EEE Server.

User is linked

The user was successfully added to the EEE Server and is linked to Active Directory.

User is ignored

The user was added and linked but was later deleted from the EEE Server but not the Active Directory. Next time you synchronize EEE Server with Active Directory this user will not be added.

Ignored users can be manually added back to the EEE Server.

Manually add back ignored user to EEE

  1. Log in to your EEE Server.

  2. To view Active Directory users in EEE, click OrganizationActive Directory → Unlinked and from the drop-down menu select Ignored.
