[KB7419] Disable Windows Fast Start-up

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

The article below applies only to the EEE Client or EEE Server and not EFDE.

  • Disabling Windows Fast Start-up can help resolve the following issues:

    • Single Sign-On (SSO) not logging you into Windows
    • The computer is slow resuming from a hibernated state or whilst starting up

Solution

The following process applies to Windows 8, 8.1, and 10.

  1. Press the Windows + X key on your keyboard.

  2. Click Power Options.

  1. On the right-hand side, click Additional power settings.

  1. On the left hand side, click Choose what the power button does.

  1. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.

  1. Towards the bottom of the page, deselect the Turn on fast start-up (recommended) option.

  1. Click Save Changes
