[KB6926] Resolve incompatibilities on 32-bit Windows with MS RS4 update and your ESET product

Issue

ESET product modules non-functioning after installing MS RS4 update released in August 2018.

Solution

Windows 11 upgrade

The Windows 11 upgrade may affect the compatibility of your ESET product on Windows 10 operating system. See Microsoft Windows Support Policy and ESET products.

In August 2018, Microsoft distributed the of RS4 update for the 32-bit version of Windows 10 OS. This Microsoft update may lead to system crashes when an incompatible antivirus solution is installed. ESET ensured the compatibility of its products with the updated Anti-stealth support module version 1132.

If the mentioned ESET update is not installed on your system, Anti-stealth, HIPS and the Firewall related features in version 11.1 and later products may become non-functioning. If your ESET product is not fully functional, the main program window will be outlined in red and alerts will be displayed here.

If you are using ESET Internet Security, ESET Smart Security Premium or ESET NOD32 Antivirus on 32-bit Windows 10, you should consider upgrading your product manually to ensure the full protection of your system. You can notice the product´s GUI turns red and display alerts. To trigger the update, open your ESET product, click Update in the main program window and then click Check for updates.

Once you successfully update your ESET product and restart your computer, your product will have fully restored functionality.

ESET customers who have a valid license and are receiving updates regularly will remain unaffected by this issue and do not need to do anything.
