Megoldás

To install ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) 6.x on a Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS), it is necessary to perform a component-based installation. To do so, follow the instructions below:

I. Enable Mixed Mode authentication for SQL

  1. Press the Windows key + R, type regedit into the blank field and click OK. Click Yes if you are prompted by Windows.
  2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL ServerInstance NamesSQL
  3. Your SQL instance name will be displayed in the Data column (for example, MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS).

    1. If multiple instances are present on your machine, make sure to identify the instance used with ESET Remote Administrator.
    2. If the only entry is (Default) or if the registry key mentioned in step 2 does not exist, SQL server is not installed. SQL Server must be installed either as a standalone component, or using the all-in-one installer method, for the proper function of ERA. Click here to view installation instructions for SQL Server.

III. Install ESET Remote Administrator components

To install ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) on a Microsoft Small Business Server, you must download and install the components you want individually. See the ESET Remote Administrator User Guide for step-by-step instructions to install individual components. Component installer files are available from the ESET Remote Administrator Standalone Installers download page. Follow the order shown below when installing components:

  1. Download and install ESET Remote Administrator Server (ERA Server).
  2. Download and install ESET Remote Administrator Agent (ERA Agent).
  3. Download and install ESET Remote Administrator Web Console (ERA Web Console).
  4. To configure ERA to use SSL (recommended), you must configure Apache Tomcat to listen on the correct ports. To do so, follow the instructions below:

    1. Create a keystore using Java. An administrative command prompt should be used to run this command. A sample command is shown below:

      C:Program FilesJava\%java version%inkeytool.exe -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA -keystore "C:Program FilesApache Software Foundation\%Tomcat Version%.keystore" -storepass %password%

    2.  Use the Netstat and Tasklist commands to confirm that TCP port 443 is not being used:
      1. Press the Windows key + R, type CMD into the blank field and click Open.
      2. In the command prompt, type: netstate -ano | find "443" (the quotes around the port number are required).
      3. Press Enter, if the response includes the text “0.0.0.0:443”, %server IP address%:443 or [ : : ]:443 the port is in use and you must select a different port for ERA to use. Make sure that you record which port number you use, this information will be required for installation and configuration of ERA Server.

    3. Open your server.xml file (located at C:Program FilesApache Software Foundation\%Tomcat Version%confserver.xml using default settings) and revise the end of the file from to so that it appears as shown below:

  5. Restart the Apache Tomcat 7.0 service to apply your configuration changes:

    1. Press the Windows key + R, type Services.msc into the blank field and click Ok.
    2. Locate the Apache Tomcat 7.0 service, right-click it and select Restart from the context menu.
