Issue
- You want to import the ESET Inspect Web browser HTTPS/SSL certificate list
Solution
Download the Authority Public key (.DER
file) to the PC/Server where you will access the ESET Inspect Web Console.
The following procedure works for most web browsers (Mozilla Firefox procedure below):
- Double-click the
DER
file. - Click Install Certificate > Local Machine > Place all certificates in the following store > Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
- To verify that the certificate was installed successfully, open the Microsoft Management Console by pressing Win + R and type "MMC".
- In MMC, go to File > Add/Remove Snap-in... > Certificates > Add > My user account > Finish. Repeat the process for the Computer Account and click OK.
- The certificate installed in the first step should be visible in the following sections:
- Certificates - Current User > Trusted Root Certificates > Certificates
- Certificates (Local computer) > Trusted Root Certificates > Certificates
- Certificates - Current User > Trusted Root Certificates > Certificates
Mozilla Firefox Procedure
This procedure should work for the latest Mozilla Firefox version:
- Click the menu icon.
- Click Options > Privacy & Security > Certificates > View Certificates > Authorities > Import. Select the desired Authority Public key > Open > Trust this CA to identify websites > OK.
