[KB7832] Create a second administrator user in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem

Issue

  • Create a new user with administrator permissions in ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem
  • You are unable to perform an ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT On-Prem task because the option is unavailable

Solution

ESET PROTECT

To create a new administrator user in ESET PROTECT, you need to create a new user in ESET PROTECT Hub and select Custom Access rights for ESET PROTECT.

Access rights are slightly different in ESET PROTECT Hub

  1. Log in to ESET PROTECT Hub.

  2. Click UsersAdd User.

  3. Type an email address for the new user into the Email address field and click Next.

  4. In the Permissions section, select Write access for My company and select Custom for ESET PROTECT. Click Next.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Click MorePermission Sets. Click Administrator permission set and click Duplicate.

  7. Click Finish.

  8. Click Users, click the new user and click Assign permission sets.

  9. Select the check box next to Administrator permission set and click Finish.


ESET PROTECT On-Prem

Create a secondary administrator user in ESET PROTECT On-Prem.

  1. Click MoreUsersAddNew Native User.

  2. Type a name for the user into the User field and type a password for the user into the Password and Confirm Password fields. For more information about all available settings, see the ESET PROTECT On-Prem Online Help.

  3. Click Permission Sets. Select the check box next to Administrator permission set and click Finish.
