[KB8099] Adjust the number of password attempts for a full disk encryption login in ESET Endpoint Encryption

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

The article below applies only to the EEE Client or EEE Server and not EFDE.

  • Change the number of password attempts a user has when logging into the pre-boot authentication screen in ESET Endpoint Encryption

Solution

  1. Login to your EEE Server.

  2. Click Users, select a user and click Details.

  3. Click FDE Logins, select a username and click Change.

  4. Select the check box next to Set Password, type the number of attempts in the Password attempts field (by default, the check box unlimited is selected) and click Post Change.

Change the number of password attempts for a Single sign-on (SSO) Login

If you are using SSO login, change the FDE Login Type to Normal login first.

  1. Manually sync the EEE client to receive the update.

Change the number of password attempts for a Single sign-on (SSO) Login

Perform sync on EEE server and then the client to complete the response.

Then change the FDE Login Type back to Single-sign on (SSO) login, click Post Change and proxy sync the client machine to receive the update to change back to an SSO Login.
